Can Tab Necklace

You know those loops, on the top of tin cans that you have to pull to open them, we've discovered that you can use them, along with some fabric easily found around the home, to make them into a necklace. How cool is that!

This one is made from ring pulls and sari fabric, you can use many other materials. In the recording of our live event, above, we show you how to prepare your fabric and weave your necklace.

You will need the following for this activity:

  • Can tabs about 28-30
  • Lightweight materials - cotton or silk work best
  • Scissors
  • Sewing kit - needle, thread to match chosen fabric
  • Darning needle or a bit of masking tape
  • Hammer
