This session was led by guest presenter Ali Bird, an artist based in Sheffield. Ali guided us to explore texture and mark-making and create simple landscape drawings, encouraging us to look at how artists have used different marks to represent elements of landscape. We created a 'palette' of simple repetitive texture boxes using a variety of drawing media eg felt pen/pencil/biro. By the end of the session we'd created a small landscape artwork using our own individual palette of marks.
